Big thanks Ashley Wooster who came to talk to Mrs. Schreck's students about being a Realtor®️ and helping with their project on selling a haunted house! They talked about descriptive words and how to catch buyers attention with writing a detailed description of the home. The students asked so many good questions and were very engaged!

Mr. Tester's 8th graders worked with partners to learn about the Columbian Exchange. Students participated in a gallery walk combined with research to determine which food, animals, and products came from the Old World versus New World. Skills utilized included collaboration, communication, proper research methods, and critical thinking skills as some items were complex in their origin.

Mrs. Peterson & Ms. Fox took our Seniors to Warsaw on October 17th. They attended the Benton County College Fair. It was a great opportunity to explore their options, connect with college representatives, and narrow down post-graduation plans. Exciting futures ahead for our Tigers!

Let's celebrate! We have had a great start to the 24-25 school year. We have lots of students that are awesome. These students are being recognized as students of the month for our first month of the 2024-2025! Congratulations to the following Tigers!!! Elementary Intermediate--Leigh Goodman Every day this quarter, Leigh has exhibited leadership skills in and out of the classroom such as quick reminders to keep the chromebook cart clean, to be quiet in the hallway, to not open doors that lead to outside, to take care of class supplies in a respectful manner.. She has helped maintain our PBIS goals and standards. Similarly, Leigh shows every day why it matters to be an engaged student. She encourages her friends and students in other grades. Her relationship skills with her peers is a great example for other students, and her willingness to try and fail is a rare sight. It is for the reasons mentioned that I wholeheartedly support Leigh Goodman as the student of the month. Elementary Primary--Brantley Meyers I am picking Brantley Meyers for student of the month. Brantley has been an awesome example to students these first few weeks of school. Brantley works hard in class, tries his best, and not only sets an example, but reminds others how to be a good student in and out of the classroom. Brantley is safe, responsible, and respectful and a learner. Brantley is kind to his friends and is always putting his best effort forward and focusing on the task at hand. Brantley makes me happy to be a teacher and is a fun kiddo to have in the classroom! Jr High- Juan Alvarez I don't know Juan super well yet, however, he seems to be a very polite and responsible student. His most impressive attribute so far is his willingness to help others. Specifically Juan has assisted a new, non-English speaking student with communication. Even after the new student received a translating device, Juan is still offering support. He is always willing to sacrifice his own work to help the other student understand what is going on. Adjusting from elementary to junior high is difficult for many students, but Juan has been doing great in his own studies while helping another adjust to a new school and language! It's a lot to expect of a 7th grade student, and he does a wonderful job! High School--Steven Romine: Steven is an FFA officer and works very hard in all aspects of school whether it be sports, academics or club activities. He strives to earn As in all of his classes. Steven is helpful in his Algebra 1 class, often assisting other students to help them better understand. When Steven is baited or distracted by other students, he maintains a good attitude and is generally good natured in return. Steven was new to the district last year, but quickly jumped in to meet and make new friends by joining the basketball team and FFA. Steven is well deserving of this honor and recognition!

The XC Running Tigers enjoyed a new course this week in Buffalo. It was a unique course as our athletes got to run on an active airport with planes landing and taking off. We all agreed it was a neat experience. Of course having our favorite bus driver there to cheer us on made it even better! This race also saw our complete team together for the first time this season as our dual-sport athletes had a break from soccer. For Jackson and Gage this was their first cross-country race ever! Both finished admirably. Trenton and Rylee fell just short of a medal. Nearly everyone on the team exceeded their personal goal for this particular race.  Way to go team, Coach is proud!! 👏

From Mrs. Sleeper: "We went outside to practice our letters with chalk yesterday with kindergarten! They had to run to the letter I called out and then tell me the sound that letter makes. We also practiced writing names and letters in chalk and even spelled and sounded out some words!!"
