TIGER NATION COMMUNITY,
We are reaching out to inform you about an important development that will impact our district, our dedicated teachers, and the education of our students. Recently, the state passed SB 727, which establishes new minimum salary requirements for teachers, including a pay increase for those holding a master’s degree. This law is designed to ensure that educators are compensated fairly for their hard work and dedication.
While we support fair compensation for our teachers, it is important to note that the state is shifting the responsibility for funding this mandate onto local communities. Our district has not had an operating levy increase in 25 years, and the funding required to meet these new salary standards will necessitate an increase in our operating levy.
This levy increase will be proposed to our community in the coming months, and we want to be transparent with you about why it is necessary. The new state law aims to boost teacher pay, which is critical to recruiting and retaining top-tier educators. For our district to remain competitive, maintain our excellent staff, and continue offering the high-quality education our students deserve, we need to ensure that we have the resources to support this mandate.
We are committed to keeping our school relevant, strong, and attractive to both current and future teachers. Our staff is one of our greatest assets, and their dedication to our students is what makes our school district exceptional. However, without this operating levy increase, we risk falling behind in the recruitment and retention of talented teachers who are crucial to our children's future.
We will be providing more information and hosting community forums in the coming weeks to discuss this proposal and address any questions you may have. Your support is vital as we work together to continue providing a high-quality education and maintain the incredible staff that makes our school district a place where students thrive.
Thank you for your ongoing support and involvement in our school community.

Congratulations to Mallory Reed for being nominated and recognized as our outstanding senior student at this month’s Rotary Luncheon. Mallory is a great asset to our school district. She is a positive, energetic, helpful, and hard-working young lady. Mallory is involved in numerous activities including the National Honor Society, FBLA, FFA, Volleyball, FCA, and Harmony. Mallory has received several recognitions for her FBLA activities and is also serving as a FBLA state officer and was selected to serve on a national FBLA council. These activities take many hours of planning outside of school. Mallory also has a part time job and recently became the 2025 Missouri Hereford Queen. Following graduation, Mallory plans to attend the University of Missouri to study International Business with a minor in Spanish.
We are extremely proud of Mallory and her accomplishments. She has a bright future ahead of her, and we will support her in all her endeavors.
Congratulations again Mallory Reed!

Mrs. Miller's Culinary Arts class started a unit on eggs. Today, they learned about the various parts of the egg. They will also be learning about factors that affect the selection of eggs, principles & methods for cooking eggs, how to cook eggs correctly for breakfast menus, and how to use eggs as ingredients in other recipes.

Mrs. Nevels had a classroom full of students working on slope, y intercepts, and equations.

From Mrs. Sleeper: "Second grade has been working hard on segmenting words into syllables, so we took that skill and used it on Thanksgiving themed words. The students read the word, counted the syllables, then put it in the correct column. They read through all the words again afterwards and drew a line where the syllables separate. We even practiced our next skill as we took the words back down and counted the individual sounds in each word together."

GR VIII had our GR8FUL Feast Today- The FEAST is for our community, teachers, staff and students to all eat together in appreciation & thankfulness for each other and our community!
