Congratulations to Mallory Reed for being nominated and recognized as our outstanding senior student at this month’s Rotary Luncheon. Mallory is a great asset to our school district. She is a positive, energetic, helpful, and hard-working young lady. Mallory is involved in numerous activities including the National Honor Society, FBLA, FFA, Volleyball, FCA, and Harmony. Mallory has received several recognitions for her FBLA activities and is also serving as a FBLA state officer and was selected to serve on a national FBLA council. These activities take many hours of planning outside of school. Mallory also has a part time job and recently became the 2025 Missouri Hereford Queen. Following graduation, Mallory plans to attend the University of Missouri to study International Business with a minor in Spanish. We are extremely proud of Mallory and her accomplishments. She has a bright future ahead of her, and we will support her in all her endeavors. Congratulations again Mallory Reed!

From Mrs. Sleeper: "Second grade has been working hard on segmenting words into syllables, so we took that skill and used it on Thanksgiving themed words. The students read the word, counted the syllables, then put it in the correct column. They read through all the words again afterwards and drew a line where the syllables separate. We even practiced our next skill as we took the words back down and counted the individual sounds in each word together."

Mrs. White’s LA2 students made Bloom Balls after reading The Fall of the House of Usher. The various pieces of the ball had very specific directions that required students to cite, order, identify, or summarize passages. Then, the students had to add illustrations to the pieces as well. Finally, the pieces were put together into the amazing Bloom Ball!

From Mrs. Anderson: "This week, students played Build Your Stax. This is an investment simulation, the game simulates the stock market in a 20 year period. Students learn about savings interest, CD's, Index Funds, Single Stocks, Government Bonds, and crop commodities. The students compete against each other to see who has the best investment portfolio by the end of the 20 year period. At the end of the game it shows students what years the game simulates and the companies they were investing in if they invested in single stocks."
