From Mrs. Schaberg: "Over the last month, 6th graders read a variety of informational texts about the many skills that animals possess and how they can be helpful to humans. To conclude the unit, Mrs. Schaberg’s mom brought her therapy dog, Eclipse, in to give a presentation. We concluded the hour by making some dog toys out of recycled t-shirts."

From Mrs. Anderson: "Today, we wrapped up entrepreneurship class with a dirt pudding cup activity. Students figured out how much one unit of dirt pudding would cost to produce. Then, they worked with others and picked a selling price point. We finished up evaluating other costs involved in producing a product and reevaluating price points taking that extra information into consideration."

BTC Bank and Green Ridge R VIII partnered together to have a Tiger Nation Tailgate during Student led Conferences. BTC Bank provided food and friendly service to Green Ridge patrons during the conferences. Funds raised went to the Green Ridge PTO. The Green Ridge PTO graciously donated the funds to the Green Ridge PBIS Team for student incentives. A huge THANK YOU to BTC Bank (Jon Fish) and the Green Ridge PTO for the generous donation!

From Mrs. Lamar: "Snowy the Elf left us a note to have a snowball fight. We didn’t have any real snow, so one of the students suggested we use paper and crumble it up. So, we made a sight word game out of it. It was a blast!"

Our HS student of the month is Junior student, Kate Berry: Kate is self-motivated and goes above and beyond what is expected of her as a student and FFA member. She takes the initiative to complete tasks quickly and effectively. I just know when she does something, she does it well and to full completion. On several occasions Kate has made me feel special as her teacher by leaving me notes and buying me one of my favorite candies. Our JH student of the month is a new 7th grader to GR, Savannah Sears: Savannah began the school year extremely quiet and shy. She would hardly say a word when spoken to. She has really been opening up in the past few weeks and blossoming as both a student and friend to those around her. She has become one of my biggest helpers in the classroom. If I need chrome books checked, she's the first to volunteer. If students leave a novel or two on desks at the end of the class, she will go around and pick them up and put them back on the shelf without me asking. I've seen her grow in self-confidence in both social and academic aspects. Our elementary intermediate student of the month is Acesyn Warren. Over this first semester, Ace has shown tremendous growth in maturity and academics. He is more than willing to help others in need, including teachers. It is apparent that he truly cares whether or not he does a good job. He shows up every day and gives his best efforts. The other boys look to him for leadership and it is a good thing they have him for an example. He sets a solid example for the boys. He lines up, does not disrupt class, treats his peers and staff with courtesy, and applies himself to whatever he is doing. The elementary primary studen of the month is Aubrey Hernandez. Aubry has the kindest heart. She is always ready to learn. She is a good friend to others. She makes sure everyone is included. Aubry is a hard worker. She tries her best with everything she does. She is a great teacher helper.
