Tiger Nation (Green Ridge R VIII School District) is thankful for our community and especially of our family farmers! Please be safe out there when tending to your farms!

Good Evening Tiger Nation Community,
With the impending winter weather heading our way I wanted to let you know the Community Meeting scheduled for January 7, 2025 at 6:00 PM at the Green Ridge Community Center will be rescheduled for Tuesday January 14 at 6:00 PM.
Thank you for your continued support for our community and School.

From Miss Josie:
"The junior class partnered with Snacks by Jax, a local business and one of our own Tigers, for a fundraiser for prom. Snacks by Jax sells many different kinds of amazing freeze dried candy. His big sister, Jade, is a junior this year. This partnership was a win win!"

From Miss Hilt:
"Physical science completed various stations to learn more about how waves work. They observed reflection, refraction, and absorption of light as well as interference of waves!"

From Miss Hilt:
"Anatomy students have been learning about senses. This week they completed several stations to test their senses. They tested their smell, taste, touch, vision, hearing, and balance through many tests. It was a fun way to see how well our senses work!"

From Mrs. Hilt:
"Mrs. Hilt's third graders enjoyed pajama day and sharing with their classmates. Merry Christmas!!"

Merry Christmas from Mrs. Lamar’s class!

Belle Meyers is showing her GR-8ness! Belle is the first 3rd grader to master all of her multiplication facts! Wow! Keep being GR-8 Belle!

Mr. Underwood's Coding class has been working on surprises for kindergarten. They used coding programs to create gifts with the 3D printer! They had a wonderful time delivering these sweet surprises!

From Mrs. Schaberg:
"Over the last month, 6th graders read a variety of informational texts about the many skills that animals possess and how they can be helpful to humans. To conclude the unit, Mrs. Schaberg’s mom brought her therapy dog, Eclipse, in to give a presentation. We concluded the hour by making some dog toys out of recycled t-shirts."

From Mrs. Hilt:
"Third grade has been practicing their division facts by playing division war."

From Mrs. Sleeper: "Two different types of people on family photo day!" 🤣🤣

From Miss Treuner:
"Awkward family photo day was…just awkward, 🤷🏻♀️ and of course we had some good laughs in 2nd grade posing while getting into position!"

From Mrs. Piscopo:
"Mrs. Piscopo's class decorated Christmas tree brownies to help celebrate the holidays. Thank you to Greta for making the brownies!"

From Mrs. Piscopo:
"Mrs. Piscopo's class turned into little Santas and Rudolphs."

From Mrs. Anderson:
"Today, we wrapped up entrepreneurship class with a dirt pudding cup activity. Students figured out how much one unit of dirt pudding would cost to produce. Then, they worked with others and picked a selling price point. We finished up evaluating other costs involved in producing a product and reevaluating price points taking that extra information into consideration."

From Mrs. Shoop:
"Meowy Christmas🐱from Mrs. Shoop's Second Grade! ❤️ We can’t thank you enough (Megan Dirck) for the matching shirts!!!"

BTC Bank and Green Ridge R VIII partnered together to have a Tiger Nation Tailgate during Student led Conferences. BTC Bank provided food and friendly service to Green Ridge patrons during the conferences.
Funds raised went to the Green Ridge PTO. The Green Ridge PTO graciously donated the funds to the Green Ridge PBIS Team for student incentives. A huge THANK YOU to BTC Bank (Jon Fish) and the Green Ridge PTO for the generous donation!
