Each year we continue to register more students for the WCMMEA All-District Band Auditions. This year was no different as we traveled with 3 of our Green Ridge Musicians to Warrensburg to audition and 3 more to observe the process and volunteer for the day. Natalie Demschick, Brinlee Leonard, and Angelica Georgyiev volunteered their Saturday to help as room monitors at the auditions and to see what the process was like as they will eligible to audition next year. Miles and Evee Porter auditioned as freshmen on alto saxophone and flute. Both were just a couple spots shy of making the Honorable Mention Band and are all the more ready to tackle the material for next year's auditions. Callie Knoernschild auditioned on Horn and secured a spot in the All-District Band and will go on to audition for the All-State Band on December 7th. The All-District Band performance will be Saturday, January 11, 2025

Thanks for all the support and well-wishes as Rylee and Trenton represented Green Ridge today at MSHSAA's Class 1 Cross Country State Championship. Both left the race feeling disappointed by unmet expectations as, for a variety of reasons, neither performed to their fullest potential. Like life, despite our greatest intentions, races can be unpredictable. As a coach, and parent, I couldn't be more proud of their effort and heart though! Trenton finished 89th in the State and Rylee 115th. While both were projected for better - for two dual-sport athletes that spent the majority of the season playing soccer, and not training for a 5,000 meter race, I'd say they did pretty well! The State Championship is an awesome opportunity and I'm thankful they got to experience it - Trenton for the first time as a Freshman and Rylee for the third time as a Junior. I have full confidence both will return to Gans Creek again next year. Until then, they're eager for track season...and shorter distances. 😆 Thanks again for everyone's support this season. 🥰 - Coach D -

Mrs. Zimmerschied's American Heritage students are already preparing for the National History Day competition! They've chosen their topics and researched books from the library. Today, they were learning about the various online resources provided by The Library of Congress. They spent some time navigating that site.

It's that time again! Time to recognize our Students of the Month! HS student Gray Le: Gray has been such a help to so many students, taking time to work with them one on one whether it be due to a language barrier or math. I've been in several rooms where I have personally seen her working with kids, and she is so patient and kind. Gray has a natural easy way about her with kids and you can tell she genuinely enjoys helping them. JH student Matvii Nochka: He is always prepared. He is attentive, helpful to his peers and strives to do his best. He is quiet and does what is expected of him without being told twice. He excels in his academics with straight A's, is polite and respectful, and follows the rules and expectations. He is always friendly and helpful to his peers and is well-liked by others. Intermediate student Jackson Klein: Jackson has quickly adapted to Green Ridge and has become a great example of what it means to be a GR8 student. He is always eager to participate in class, embrace and learn from his mistakes, and handles all of his responsibilities well. His willingness to learn combined with his positive attitude make him a joy to have in class. I know this is just the beginning of his success here at Green Ridge!! Primary Student Jeanette Sidorov: Jeanette is a great student who always does her best. She works hard and goes the extra mile to do what she believes is right. If there is more than one way to solve a problem, she uses the strategy that makes the most sense to her and usually gets the answer correct. It may take her longer to complete her work, but the teacher knows that it will be quality work that she should be proud of. She is a good friend to all and tries to include everyone when she is playing a game, working in groups, or just playing at recess.
