Congratulations to Mya Edington for medaling at the Buffalo XC Invitational. Mya finished 14th in the Varsity girls race with a time of 23:12. A number of our Running Tigers set new season PRs at Buffalo and/or ran this course faster than last season which is always a goal!! Jaxon Atwood is one Tiger who set a new PR for the season - improving his time by almost SIX minutes! 👏

Congratulations to our GR-8 September Students of the Month! We are proud of each of them as they model for other of what it takes to be an amazing Tiger.
Primary Elem (K-3) is Rylee Wiegel.
Rylee is a great choice for Student of the Month. She works hard in class and stays motivated to do her best, even when things are a little challenging. She has a positive attitude and her happy-go-lucky energy makes our classroom a brighter place. Rylee is also kind to her classmates and helps create a friendly and welcoming environment. She is quick to help any classmate in need.
Upper Elem (4-6) is Zoe Schliecher
Zoe comes to class each day with an excitement to learn and to lead. She applies herself to every challenge put in front of her. As a 6th grader, she is managing duties and responsibilities in band, athletics, and the classroom with excellence. I could not be more proud of the example she is setting for the island and Green Ridge as a whole.
Jr High (7-9) is Myka Wheaton
She is always very friendly to everyone around her and includes everyone. She gets her work done on time, helps out with our school store in the morning, and is responsible in her day-to-day behavior. In class, she always strives to understand the material rather than rushing to get it done. She sets a great example for other students around her.
High School (10-12) is Jaden Xiloj
At the beginning of the school year it was obvious to me that in my class Jaden could become one of my class leaders. Therefore, I had discussions with him about being respectful and responsible in our class mainly by modeling safe and appropriate behavior in our activities in the hopes that the younger students would emulate his positive actions. I have been impressed with his willingness to fulfill this role I laid out for him. He has exhibited signs of leadership that will hopefully help him continue to grow as a student and an athlete. I believe Jaden has more than earned this opportunity and recognition.

We have amazing students in Green Ridge! Each month we choose a character word and find students that are exhibiting behaviors related to that word of the month. These students were caught showing RESPECT during September! We are so proud of each of you!
The Running Tigers endured another hot race, this time at the Shawnee Bend Golf Course for the Warsaw Invitational. Everyone ran very well despite the heat and challenging course. Rylee Donaldson brought home a 10th place medal in the Varsity girls race and Max Knoernschild medaled 4th in the Jr. High boys race. Congrats Tigers!! 👏
HS and JH volleyball will be in action tonight in Green Ridge. JV and JH "A" will start at 5:30 against Lincoln. Go Tigers!

The Running Tigers enjoyed a beautiful day at their favorite, yet most dreaded race, the Mark Sabala XC Dam Invitational in Hermitage. 😆 This massive competition is always a highlight of the season. A number of our runners set new PRs on this difficult course and/or met their personal goals they set for the race. An extra congratulations to Max Knoernschild who brought home the only medal for the team. Max placed 8th out 131 runners in our division,
19th out of 304 overall! 👏
