Mrs. Davis's 4th graders were looking forward to their science experiment about erosion!
Mrs. Lamar's young writers had a circle discussion followed by partner thinking time (eyes closed 😉) and sharing for prewriting today. Then, they got to work! Last, they conferenced with the teacher as they completed their writing. They were able to flex their "writing stamina muscles" today!!!
Ms. Schmidli's ELA students were able to get some independent reading in after their lesson.....even caught some independent reading practice in the other core classes too!!!
Mrs. Harrison's math classes are getting some practice with calculators.
Mr. Doane's students were creating vocabulary word searches today for their peers about the four subsystems or "spheres." (geosphere, hydrosphere, biosphere, and atmosphere)
5th Grade wrote to the President of the United States in Mr. Taylor's Social Studies class. Some students were inspired by the Declaration of Independence and signed in "John Hancock" fashion!
Mrs. Maxon's Art students were working on their clay projects today. They had a little encouragement from "Sunny" the class pet!

Mrs. Sleeper's students worked hard on their CVC words and then headed outside to write words with chalk! Beautiful day for some outside learning!

Bailey (Harding) Weiker came to GR8 last week to speak to the Juniors and Seniors about HR topics, such as job applications and interviews, resumes, and general expectations of employers before and after receiving employment, etc. This visit was orchestrated by Mrs. Benitz, RootEd advisor. Bailey is a 2018 Green Ridge graduate. She is currently completing her Masters of Business Administration at UCM while working as a Senior HR Generalist for the university. Thank you, Bailey, for giving our students some wonderful career information and advice!
