Thank you to our GR8 PTO for funding the 3rd & 4th grade field trip to Science City!!! Here are some photos from Mrs. Thompson!
From Mrs. Lamar:
"Mrs. Hammers came and read a book to us today! Then, at the end of the day we had three girls read to the class!!! :)
From Mrs. Bates:
"7th & 8th grade general music working on their lyrics for their songwriting projects. We’ve spent the last few class periods dissecting the anatomy of a song and now they are creating their own songs from a short list of topics. The topics are all quick ideas that are considered shared human experiences. If time allows, they will create a backing track to go along with their lyrics."
From Mrs. Lamar in Kindergarten:
"Lennox reading Green Eggs and Ham!"
Mrs. Davis's class & Mrs. Thompson's class combined their writing skills and created a 4th grade book that was printed! Each student had a page to write! The books came in, and the students are so proud! Awesome job, 4th graders!!!
Mrs. Johnson's class was writing "storm chaser" stories today! Timely!!!
Baseball tonight, at Cole Camp, has been cancelled. Unfortunately, this contest will not be rescheduled. The Tigers will start the district tournament next Monday, at Liberty Park (Sedalia), at 6:00 pm.
From Coach Cannon:
"4th Grade Mile!!! Here is a picture of our top three, fourth grade finishers. Zoe ran an 8:48, followed by Ruby, and Cruz!"
From Ms. Tylar:
"Today, the 8th graders had a blast playing 3Ball! Mark, our cadet, played with his usual enthusiasm, but this time he teamed up with his buddies Shane and Weston. It was a lively match between the Seniors and the 8th graders, creating a fun atmosphere.
This is an innovative dodgeball game concept called 3 Ball, created by Steve Mercado (the Game of the Year at his school). This game involves intriguing strategies, where staying aware is crucial to succeed. Strive to be the last player standing in this engaging game."
From Mrs. Dove:
LASERS Night was held on Tuesday, May 7th. The LASERS students presented their planets that they developed to the full house. Then, questions were asked by audience members. Students were not allowed to say “I don’t know” to the questions. They had to think on their feet and come up with answers concerning their new worlds. LASERS students are “Out of This World!”
Last Friday, author--James Arthur, came to Green Ridge School and talked with our 6-10 graders about creative writing and perseverance in writing and life. He discussed his first book, Holiday High.
