"In Anatomy, students worked in groups to construct a 3-D model of an organ of their choice. They then had to present their model to the class and explain the parts of the organ and the functions it has in the body. One group constructed a stomach model and one group constructed a brain! They turned out great!"

"To prepare for the hot air balloon, physical science learned about how hot air balloons float and why hot air rises. After learning about the processes, we made our own small-scale hot air balloon!"

Varsity soccer got a 5-0 win vs Cole camp.
Jaden Xiloj had 2 first half goals with an assist from Trent Sawyer on the first.
The three second half goals were all unassisted. Trent Sawyer, Rylee Donaldson, and Reid Hagedorn each put one in the back of the net.

JH Soccer played Cole Camp at home Thursday the 19th for their season opener and came away with an 8-0 win! Clay Goodman and Ivas Lemanski led the way with 3 goals apiece. Alex Diaz had 4 assists and scored a goal. Matvii Nochka rounded out the scoring with the final goal. Cole Chappell was in goal for the shutout. Next game is Tuesday, 9/24 against Stover at home.

"Plague Doctor--World History is learning what started the Black Death and its impact on European economy and society."


Volleyball is traveling to Northwest this evening for a full night of contests. JH "A" will start the night at 5:00 p.m., followed by one set of JH "B", two sets of JV, and then a full varsity contest. Soccer will have their home opener with JH starting the evening at 5:00 p.m. against Cole Camp. The varsity match will follow JH. Good Luck Tiger Nation.

This summer Melville Wood Works helped GR VIII update the playground with a new GA GA BALL pit. The PTO was gracious enough to purchase the hardware and Melville Woodworks put it together. This is one way GR VIII and its community work together for our kids! Thank you to GR VIII PTO and Matt Melville for their time and energy on this project. I do believe our kids love it!

"Callie Knoernschild, Junior, auditioned for All-District Choir Saturday after marching in the Green Ridge Fall Festival that morning. She was able to secure one of the few Soprano spots in the choir! She auditions for All-State choir on October 19th where the All-District Choir will perform along with the Women’s Treble Choir and the 9/10 Honor Choir at Oak Grove High School!"

HS Soccer's game time tomorrow against Lone Jack has been moved back to 6:30 p.m. Lone Jack's field is now located at Lone Jack High School. Good Luck Tigers!

Our cross-country runners attended the Knob Noster Invitational Saturday - their first meet of the season. Evee Porter posted the fastest time at 21:28.7. Our next meet is this Saturday (9/21) at Smith-Cotton. The first race starts at 8:00 a.m. for those who would like to come support our Running Tigers.
