Third graders doing syllabication. They are splitting words independently. We are working on multisyllabic words now!
Our day of the month is "respect." Holidays are celebrated all over the world and in all cultures during the winter months. Classrooms selected a holiday to decorate their door in that theme. This project taught students about those different cultures and holidays being celebrated. Look for glimpses of these special doors throughout the day! The following doors are from Mrs. Harrison-"Advent" and Mrs. Davis-"Kwanzaa."
Sophomores are ready for GAME DAY! Away game tonight at Northwest. JV boys starting at 5:00!
Mrs. Shoop's students have been using the Kid Safe search engine, "Kiddle" to research reindeer facts to take through the writing process this week! The final drafts are displayed outside her classroom!
We even have GR8 substitute teachers at Green Ridge! Mrs. Scott was modeling for students on the white board like a veteran teacher!
First Grade students are always excited for a teacher read aloud!
Busy elves in 3rd grade--sparkly snowflakes, independent reading, small groups, dictionary skills....and so much more!!!
4th grade is finishing individual CBM testing along with a variety of other activities and projects this week. Buddy the Elf has also been making his way from room to room throughout the building. Mrs. Davis and Mrs. Thompson had fun with Buddy today!
Mrs. Maxon's art students have some very festive displays decorating our hallways!
Mrs. Piscopo's students LOVED the book "Santa's Stuck" by Rhonda Gowler Greene. They were excited to retell ALL the details! Then, they were able to create their own chimney, where Santa got stuck of course!🎅🏻
Mrs. Lamar's Kinders have Turn & Talk procedures down! During math, they had great discussions! I even heard one student say, "It's your turn to talk."

Mrs. Dove's Kindergarten STEAM Lab students had high school mentors today from Mrs. Anderson's Coding Class for "Board Game Day!" Thank you to our "Bigs" for being GR8 role models for our "Littles!"
In small groups today, Mrs. White's ELA students were using a Venn Diagram to compare and contrast the short story, "The Monkey's Paw" by W.W. Jacobs with the film.
These students finished their personal narratives today and did a fabulous job sharing them aloud!
Today, Mr. Romenskiy's 8th Grade ELA students were presenting their research on World War 2 heroes. GR8 work!!! So interesting!
2nd Grade students worked hard in their small groups today! Check out the engaging phonics activity with spoons!
Green Ridge Athletics update for tomorrow 12/15. JV boys will start the night at Northwest at 5:00 p.m. The JV game will be followed by the Varsity Girls and Varsity Boys. Good luck TigerNation.
