8th grade helped Mrs. Donaldson plant 15 apple trees, each a different variety, in what will become our school apple orchard. The funding for this project was provided via a grant from our Central Missouri Electric Cooperative. The kids enjoyed learning about the different varieties, the process of grating and of course getting dirty planting. Finding a snake in the grass was an added science bonus! Mrs. Donaldson looks forward to showing students how to tend to these trees as we watch them grow and produce fruit, together, in the years to come.
