I like to start my science classes out each year with a STEM challenge. It's a great way for me to observe group dynamics, problem-solving skills, leadership skills and communication abilities - all while doing science and engineering! It's also a great reminder for students that sometimes the best things are created by failing, reconfiguring and trying again.
