Induction

The 2015-2016 Green Ridge Chapter of the National Honor Society consists of eighteen NHS members from the sophomore, junior and senior classes. The Green Ridge NHS students promote service at school and in the community through activities and projects such as:

·       Trick-or-Treating for canned goods which are donated to the Food Pantry

·       Adopting a local family to help at Christmas time

·       Helping with the Green Ridge Elementary School Literacy Night & Grandparents Day

·       Volunteering hours for GRRO tournaments, school tournaments and GR Park Day

·       Serving at the Community Café

·       Camp Blue Sky at SFCC

·       Trash pick-up within the city of Green Ridge

·       Helping Kiwanis Club at their concession stand for the 2015 Trail Ride event

·       2015 First Annual NHS Chili Cook-off held at Green Ridge School

Many members are also involved in service through their church youth groups, 4-H Clubs, and the Boys & Girls Club.

NHS members are required to complete a minimum of twenty hours of volunteer work each school year, with a mix of in-school volunteering and outside of school service hours. Our NHS chapter also gives two $100 scholarships to two graduating senior members who continue their education at a two or four year college or a trade school.
