What is Dual Credit?
Dual credit classes allow high school students to
receive high school and college credit simultaneously.
Benefits to Dual Credit?
- Earn college credit prior to starting college, while earning
high school credit
- Generally classes are discounted from the price
of typical college classes.
- Variety of classes offered, allow students to
take classes that may not be offered at Green Ridge High School.
Other Important Considerations for Dual
Credit
- There
are specific requirements students must meet for each college.
- Students
and their parents are responsible for the college tuition payment, books,
and/or any other fees associated with their classes.
- Students
need to be self-motivated and responsible.
- Most
classes are taught on-line or I-TV classes taught by college instructors.
- Dual
credit classes are college level classes, with college level expectations. The grade you receive in these classes will
be on your high school as well as college transcripts.
- Most
courses offered through Dual credit are transferable to other
college/universities, however, it is up to the student to verify the
transferability to the college of their choice.
